As usual, this year's Christmas was a good one, well spent with my loved ones...
How is it already Christmas on Sunday?! I feel like time always flies for me in December. It's such a busy month; exams, shopping, preparation for the 25th. Sometimes I forget to sit back and relax...
For a November weekend, I visited the beautiful city of Nice in France. After spending three days there exploring, shopping and cycling around, I must admit it was a pretty 'nice' weekend...
I couldn't resist making that pun!
Recently, I went to the Happy Pear in Greystones with my sister. I love this café / restaurant: the food is so delicious but also super good for you, and the people are always, excuse the pun, happy.
Magpie is a new Irish magazine that hit the shelves at the start of this month. Filled from front to back with fashion and quality articles, Magpie will definitely be a monthly buy for me. I was lucky to be invited to their launch event in House, Dublin on the 31st August, one day before the magazine's release.
There are no holiday or festival snapchat stories bombarding my feed anymore, heatwave weeks are turning into cloudy days, and I'm buried in homework every night; I think summer 2016 is well and truly over!
I remember first listening to Greek myths and legends in primary school and being blown away. Since then, Athens had been on my travel bucket list for quite some time. Athens is the heart of Ancient Greece, and I had the opportunity to delve into the rich history of the city on my recent trip with my family.
Back in July, I spent a week in the beautiful Greek island Mykonos with my parents and sister. It was a week of relaxation, sun and good food.
I love reading. It's one of my favourite ways to escape from everything and get engrossed in captivating stories with memorable characters. However, I occasionally seem to lose my motivation to pick up a book and get stuck in. This happens quite often when I don't seem to have much time, or when I'm more into watching YouTube or Netflix, or simply when the book I'm reading just hasn't got me hooked.
I walked the last 112km of the Camino de Santiago in six days at the beginning of June. Talk about a tiring but amazing start to the summer!
It's been a while, so because of that I thought it'd be appropriate to sum up all of my news in a list - specifically a list of 'sixteen things'. Let's go!
The other night I saw Wide Open Opera's The Barber of Seville in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre with my dad. Opera is kind of me and dad's thing after we saw Rigoletto together when I was eleven.
I got the chance to spend two days at Oriflame Research and Development during the Easter holidays for work experience. For the two days, I was with Jane Bonner (another Jane!), the lead hair care chemist, in the Oriflame laboratories.
My sister, brother and mum have all been on a charity trek in Ethiopia with the Support Africa Foundation, so when the opportunity came up for my Dad and me to go, we didn't hesitate to sign up.
A week or so ago, I went to Wolf Alice's gig, and I really loved the outfit I wore, so I thought I'd take photos of it before I
headed off.
In January, Panic! at the Disco released their fifth studio album, Death of a Bachelor. I've been a big fan of Panic! since 2014, but I've also had a love for the different 'eras' of Panic!. Each of their albums have their own style. There's the circus era, hippy era, Gothic Victorian era, Vegas era and... modern era, I guess.
It has been a while since I did my last style steal and I really like doing them; creating outfits on Polyvore is so much fun. For this one, I looked at each of Panic! at the Disco's 'eras' and styled outfits inspired by the colours, music video's outfits and songs. There's a frequency of going out looks with dresses and heels, but there is an adorable everyday outfit there too. Each outfit is matched with a suitable lipstick.
Let's go through each album, or 'era'...
Recently, I was lucky enough to win Aliciaslifexo's giveaway. It was the first giveaway I had ever won, and I was so thrilled because all of the beauty products looked amazing - I was so excited to get a hold of them!
Hi kids! Patty Simcox here! Just kidding, it's Jane - I fooled you!
Last week, my year group put on our production of 'Grease' in school for three nights. It's such a coincidence as there's been a revival of the musical's popularity with 'Grease: Live' recently. I was lucky to play the hilariously fun part of Patty Simcox, the annoying cheerleader. I love acting, and it was amazing to be involved in such a brilliant musical with amazing dances and songs. Our year worked really hard since before Christmas, and I think we performed great during the week. However, one of my absolute favourite aspects of doing 'Grease' was wearing fifties costumes and, of course, stage make up!
Recently, I was invited to the unveiling of the Swatch S/S16 collection in Soder + Ko, George's Street in Dublin. Of course, I jumped at the chance to go, and I brought my friend Sarah with me.
YES. THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED!
On the 31st of January, I went to Eason's on O'Connell Street, Dublin, to meet one of my favourite YouTubers of many years. Zoella, the beauty vlogger with now 10 million subscribers, held her Girl Online On Tour book signing in the shop and I was so lucky to attend it.
If you're a fan of fairytales and Doctor Who, then you'll love this gem of a book.
Ever since I was younger, I've had a big fat love for fairytales - Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, all of them. And now I'm also a fan of the BBC sci-fi show Doctor Who. So, when I saw that the book Doctor Who Time Lord Fairy Tales existed, I knew I had to get myself a copy.
I've been blogging for about four years now; I have learnt a thing or two. I thought I'd share with you my best advice on running a blog and what my blogger necessities are. Let's get to it...
I wore this outfit to the cinema last weekend. We saw 'Daddy's Home' and I've never laughed so much in the movies before. We had TGI Friday's before, and thinking about it I'm craving that delicious burger I had! What new year diet?!
YouTube has become such a big part of my life. I don't only make videos and upload them on to the website, but I also religiously watch other people's videos about their lives, make up or opinions. YouTube is by far my best-loved social media website.
YouTubers are like celebrities now. If one has over, at least, 3 million subscribers, almost everyone is bound to have heard of them. But there are loads and loads and loads of other YouTube talent out there other than Zoella and Bethany Mota. If you would like to find some new YouTubers to subscribe to, you've come to the right place.
Below are lists and descriptions of some of my favourite YouTubers that I'd say not too many people have heard of. Some have bigger sub numbers or could be more well known than others. Despite that, they each make incredibly well filmed and edited content, are genuine and are unique in their niche. Enjoy!
I love finding quotes that are beautiful, motivating and heart warming. Here are a bunch of my favourite quotes that inspire me and make me feel happy. Hopefully I will really listen to these quotes now and start living by them!
I have recently really liked a few things, which includes the TV show Community and this dark green shirt.
Happy 2016!
We as human beings get so attached to everything; we have to say goodbye to a year as it ends, and welcome the new one in. We like closure and new beginnings; they're chances to rid of our old habits and bad memories to make room for an improved lifestyle. And there's no better time to change your ways and forget the negatives than when the year changes to a fresh, new, different number.
Lately, I haven't been a huge fan of New Years and resolutions; I spent last night watching Downton Abbey and collaging, and only celebrated the new year for approximately three minutes. I feel guilty for not achieving things in a year, so resolutions suck sometimes.
But I do like reflecting on the year past, and then it always excites me to think what the new year will bring to the table. I love lists, so I'm going to list a few brilliant things that happened in 2015 to give it a nice little goodbye; but first, here's some photos from the year.
