Get Ready With Me: First Day Back at School!

Squee!

I finally finished my first day of Second Year! Woop woop!
Now like 9 more months to go... Yay... :(
But I like school so yay/nay :/

Whatever.

Anyway I'm here to present to you what I did to get ready for my first day back after three months of summer, and I also what I did in school, which isn't much. I went back two days ago, on the 27th. I was so excited to see all my friends again and all. I was only in from 12 to 3, so I was able to take my time that morning since I woke up at like 8 (I'm a morning person :D).

Without further adue, here is my second Back to School post!

The night before, after washing my hair, I plaited my hair into four, as you can see. I was planning to rock the look the next day... Just kidding! I did it before last year and it made my hair curly and frizzy (in a cool and different way). I wanted to try it out again for my first day.

I sprayed this on to my plaits for a nourishing treatment. I can't even tell if it worked yet.

In the morning, I had my breakfast first (Rice Krispies!) and watched a little TV (since I was up quite early and I didn't have be in school till 12, as I said). I went up stairs and changed into my uniform. I don't wear a hoodie to school (we're not allowed) but I wanted to cover up my school shirt.

I tied my hair into my signature side ponytail, and as you can tell, the plaits did make a difference.

I added a little hairband from Penneys to finish it off.

Hair: Complete!

You gotta brush your teeth y'all!

I washed my face with this great refreshing face wash.

And with my Benefit moisturizer, I primed my skin for my make up.

I didn't want to do photos for what I used for makeup since I used the exact same stuff as I did in a previous post. Click the photo above to see how I did it!
Also I don't wear a face of make up everyday.

I am not really allowed nail polish in school but I tried out a French manicure the night before. It is pretty natural so I doubt will notice straight away. The most trouble I'll get in is being told to take it off, which isn't that bad as there's a girl in my form who was told to take it off every week last year but still continues to wear coloured nails.

I can't show you my outfit unfortunately (Irish uniforms aren't very exciting anyway) but I can show you my school shoes! I love them; so comfortable!

Then I was ready to go! Of course I organised my bag and books and all that and brought them, but no one really cares about that... I'll do a Supplies Organisation post soon.

When I arrived I got to see all my pals again which was great and said hi to a few other girls. There's a new girl and she's Mexican! She's not in my form though, so I didn't get to talk to her.
We had a Study Skills day which means a few guys came in (not from our school) to talk to us and gives us ideas on how to study and note taking. It was very helpful I thought. I might do a separate post in a few weeks on study tips.

Today I did my first proper day! It was a bit different because it was a new timetable and I was separated from my form class for my choice subjects, business and Spanish and into new classes with different teachers. It was grand.

Also, I played hockey today! I play for my school, and it is the best sport EVER! It really keeps you fit and is so fun!

So that's all guys! Good luck in school!

My Favourite School Make Up Look

Hey fizzy quirky Dorks!
I came home from Connemara on Friday night (unfortunately missed #tbloggers chat on Twitter... btw I got 200 followers on it :D) and I have been getting ready for school and I am SUPER excited! I can't wait to see all my friends, and I'm curious about my new timetable and if I have any new teachers. I love school, so don't judge me! I'm back tomorrow but I'm only in from noon to like 3; we'll be doing an 'Study Skills' day (basically we learn how to study :/) and we get our new timetable and planner (squee!) so it won't be extremely exciting but I just can't wait to see everyone.
I am super psyched to do my first Back To School post, woop woop! It's make up I would wear to school if I wasn't lazy... It's very natural since most schools in Ireland have a strict rule with no make up, so make it look like you're not wearing make up, that's the trick!
I hope you guys like this Back To School tutorial!
(P.S always apply moisturiser before make up, even if your
BB cream is moisturising!)

1. If you would like to wear eye shadow, pick the most neutral colours you have. I used my Benefit's Worlds Famous Neutrals palette. On the lids apply a cream shadow (it'll last all day). I used the colour R.S.V.P.

2. Next, as a highlighter (if you have pale skin; not sure if it'll work on different complexions!) use a light pink shadow and sweep underneath your brows on your brow bone. From the palette, I used the colour Pinky Swear.

3. Apply your favourite mascara. I used Max Factor Eye Brightening mascara, because it isn't too voluminous or clumpy, so my lashes look nice an natural. It also does brighten my eyes a little, perfect for 'I stayed up all night studying' eyes.

 4. If you're unlucky like me and have purple bags under your eyes, use concealer! It's a life saver. Sweep it in line with your dark circles and blend. BLEND! I like to use my finger for blending. If it's that horrible time of month, cover up those pimples with it too. I used Fake up by Benefit, which is only for under your eyes I think.

5. It's definitely not a must have, but try BB cream. BB cream is great for young skin since it's not as heavy. Garnier BB cream is lightweight and moisturising, but doesn't cover the skin as you might think it will. If you have Acne, go for a heavier BB cream , or if you have to foundation.

TOP TIP: BLEND! You do not want to experience the 'foundation line' drama in school, do you? Also you'd get in trouble if the teachers noticed. EEK! MORTO MOMO!

6. If you want, set your BB cream and concealer with a pressed powder and make it last. It will make your face more matte; an ESSENTIAL for oily skin! I used the Natural Collection powder.

Or, you can use a primer, like POREfessional, on top of your make up so it'll stay all day. Or under, if you prefer, but I like on top more; I feel like it hard to apply my concealer on top of the primer.

7. If you have fair skin, blusher is your best friend! It'll make you look healthier and happier going to school. I love Clarins Blush Prodige in Soft Peach. Apply it to the apples of your cheeks, but don't apply too much; you don't literally want red apples on your cheeks!
If you have darker skin, go for bronzer!

8. And my finsiing touch, ladies and gentlemen, is a sheer, nude lipgloss, Sugarbomb by Benefit. Or you can use a lip balm, EOS or Baby Lips are epic. Or even go for classic Vaseline!

And that's it everybody!
I hope this might have helped you for ideas of make up for school.

Of course, if you're in a rush, you can skip a few steps, but here are my absolute must haves: moisturiser, concealer, mascara and lip balm!

Tomorrow I'm going to do a Get Ready with Me post for my first day of second year! Woohoo! And stay tuned for more Back to School posts throughout the week; since I won't have as much homework as usual, fingers crossed.

And if you're a first year, or are going to a new school, just SMILE! Be cheery and you will instantly draw people to you.

Remember, always blend and look natural (espesh if you're Irish)!

And here comes the cheesy Michelle Phan ending:
Good luck!

Denim on Denim OOTD + my Month in Connemara

Shirt: Hollister

Trousers: G By Guess

Shoes: Converse

Bow: Claire's

Make Up:
Benefit Easiest Nudes Ever Eye palette
Rimmel Liquid Eye liner
Clarins blush prodige in Soft Peach

Hey guys!
I hope you liked my outfit above; I wore it a few weeks ago on a Sunday. Denim on denim is an upcoming autumn trend, which is still wearable during the summer season! Most of the items I wore I bought in Florida. My favourite is the shirt; I adore the embellished collar! It can turn any outfit from casual to formal.

Also in this post I am going to share with you the kind of things I do and did while staying in Connemara. I'm still here after about five weeks, and I'm going home sometime this week.

Myself and my family have our own house and we come down every summer, sometimes during mid-term holidays too. Before we never had Wi-Fi in our house down here, but now we do! I can now blog here, as I have been doing these past few weeks. I've done tons of make up reviews, but now I'm going to talk to you about my month here in Connemara.

It's incredible the amount of things you can do here. The scenery is beautiful, so photography is one idea. There is a photo competition in the local library, and the theme is wild flowers, so my granny and I one day went out on a trip together to find some pretty wild flowers and take photos for the competition. I am only allowed enter one photo, so:

Which photo of wild flowers above should I enter into the comp? You decide!
There's a town nearby which is nice to stroll around. The shops are only okay, not like the ones in American malls or anything! On a rainy day, which is quite often, we like to pop in there. There's a cinema too! I went to see Monsters University with my cousins recently, and it
was so cute and funny!

There's a golf club really close to my house, and all of us in the family play! Except I'm not a serious player, if you know what I mean. I've been out a few times with my fam to play 6 or 9 holes, which is good craic. I hope to play more in the future; golf is so much fun!

Also, there are a ton of beaches in Connemara, since it is on the coast. There is one right outside my house, that has very calm waves, almost no waves at all. It's great for speedboats and kayaking. We have a kayak that we bring down to the beach, but unfortunately haven't used it a lot this year. I might use it soon in these last few days.

So while the beach is fun, there is a pier at the end of the road my house is on, and when the tide is high, what better time then to jump off it! Might sound mad to you, but it's really fun! It's the easy way to get into the (madly, extremely freezing) water. I had a blast and was with my sister a few friends and we swam around the pier a few times. Pier jumping is one of my favourite things to do here!
Two thumbs up for pier jumping!
Also every year there is a cycle called the Tour De Bog, and it was my third time this year doing it, well, maybe, less than half it! The whole thing is 35km; how on earth could I do it all when I'm wrecked after 15km? My brother did all of the race and he came like 11th, which was brilliant.
We've been cycling a lot otherwise; it's a great activity. It's very relaxing (unless you're cycling up a steep hill while panting) and enjoyable.
All my cousins and friends come and go while we're staying here, so we hang out with them and all some days and nights. We might go out for dinner in the town with them or chill at the house with a game of Blackjack. All of our cousins have gone home, but a family are still down that we're super friendly with and we went pier jumping with them today. Those photos above are from that jumping session, btw.
So those were a few things we like to do, and have been doing, while down here in Connemara, one of my favourite places in the world. It's just so damn fun here!
I hope you enjoyed my fashion/lifestyle post!
Remember to let me know which flower photo I should enter into the competition!!
