OUTFIT | Christmas Corduroys, and how I'm spending my weeks off

Christmas Day has come and gone in a flash, but my month long break from college is only just beginning...

That’s right. A whole MONTH. I’m back to Trinity on the 21st January. By the time I get back into college life, I’ll have been well rested but will also have got myself together. I’m used to jumping right back into work by the second week of January, so having a good few weeks off is bliss.

So far, I’ve loved my break from exams and essays since the 14th. I caught up with friends by going out, having movie nights and seeing Leinster beat Connacht with them, and got presents ready for Christmas, as you may have seen in my third week of Vlogmas (on YouTube, video below). The big day itself was peaceful as usual.

For Christmas I got this gorgeous pair of burnt orange corduroy trousers from Urban Outfitters, and I knew I had to wear them - cosy but also formal. I styled them with my black mesh top and a black vest style top, some new jewellery and my new velvet boots from Carl Scarpa.

As I have done a Christmas Outfit blogpost every single year since 2012, it’s really amusing to see how much my style has changed over time. We’ve gone from black Uggs in 2012 to black mesh tops in recent years. Check out the last six years of OOTDs from the 25th of December below:

So what am I doing for the rest of the break? Well, by the time this blogpost is published, I will be celebrating the arrival of 2019 in Les Arcs, France with my family and family friends, skiing and eating really good food. This is the first time I’ve ever celebrated the New Year in a completely different country, so I'll be saying Bonne AnnĂ©e an hour earlier than those of you in Ireland, outside in the snow, with fireworks and even a DJ!

I had very much been looking forward to skiing again this week, but there’s also lots more planned for after I return. The 1975’s Dublin concert is on the 10th January, and it will be my first time seeing the amazing band live. On the 16th I’ll be going to see the new Broadway musical ‘Come from Away’ in the Abbey Theatre. And that's not all: I’ll also be dressing up in 1920’s style once again as I’m heading to the Gate Theatre’s production of ‘The Great Gatsby’, and after seeing it in London, I cannot wait to re-live F. Scott Fitzgerald’s tale.

In between all those exciting theatre outings and gigs, I’ll be reading! I want to get a head start on my reading list for this term because everything becomes pretty busy once lectures and tutorials get rolling.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and
Happy New Year!

  2. I really enjoyed this place and you can definitely find me here for more events. I didn't eat anything when on my recent visit to venue NYC, but those around me had truffle fries, pizza, and wings all seemed to enjoy.
