MAKEUP | Face of the Day - Glowy Summer Look

It's all about glow right now. No, not the TV show (which is v. v. good, I recommend it), it's the dewy, minimalistic, radiant makeup look everyone is rocking these days...

On this sunny day, a few days before I ventured off to the rainy Gaeltacht, I was going out for lunch with my friends to celebrate Anna's birthday. After forever admiring the trend, I finally tried out the glowy skin look and made my face radiant and fresh looking. I went a little bit further with my makeup and did a glossy eye makeup look too, yet the makeup trend is, I'd say, most worn for a "no-makeup" natural look at the moment.

First, after moisturising of course, I primed my skin with both the Smashbox Photo Finish primer and the Benefit Porefessional primer. I applied my Kiko Eye Primerlinique Anti-Blemish Solution foundation, which my mum and I found back in January and is a match made in heaven. I brightened up my dark circles and covered my blemishes with my new Kat Von D Lock-It concealer (for those of you who watched my USA haul, it is the right colour ;D). I set my base with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder - I am still trying to learn how to bake properly. I will perfect it some day.

I primed my eyes with the Kiko Pearly Eye Base, then quickly while it was still quite wet, worked some of the 'Tiger's Eye' eyeshadow from the Too Faced Cat Eyes palette into my crease. I then grabbed my handy Maybelline Colour Tattoo cream eyeshadow in Pink Gold and smoothed it from my inner lid to the centre for a pop of gloss. I lined my eyes with the Rimmel Scandal Eyes eyeliner and brushed my lashes with the Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant mascara. I forgot to include it in the photo but I filled and blended out my eyebrows with the amazing Urban Decay Brow Beater. I like my eyebrows quite natural looking, so this is ideal for just filling in the sparse hairs.

I highlighted my brow bone with the Benefit High Brow before I brought some life to my face with the Tanya Burr blush in Apricot Flush from the Peachy Glow Cheek Palette (pro tip - use sparingly; this blush loves to cake up itself). I contoured up my cheekbones and face outline with the Flormar Bronzing Powder, my go-to as it is not too dark for my pale skin.

Now onto to the best part: highlight! The ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter in Smoke N' Whistles is great for quick application onto the cheekbones, above the eyebrows, the nose, and lightly on the forehead and chin. I added a bit of an extra shine with the Benefit High Beam highlighter.

I wanted a summer-y peach colour for my lips, so my MAC lipstick in Sweet & Sour was what I reached for, applied with a touch of the Tanya Burr lipgloss in Champagne Toast.

The finishing touch? The Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray. It illuminates, it sets, and most importantly, the mist makes you feel like a goddess.
