THE END OF THE QUEEN OF QUIRK BLOG... AS YOU KNEW IT...

Hello all! This blog has not been active for quite a while. Here are a few reasons:

1. My school and then college life got more and more hectic—I moved to New York in 2021 to study at Columbia and am now studying at Oxford.

2. I began to do student journalism which gave me even less time to write in my spare time.

3. The world of web blogging has changed since the rise of other social media, especially Instagram.

I'd like to get back into my writing/blogging habits, so I think I'll try writing more on Instagram and making use of the caption space. So, while this blog isn't going anywhere, it certainly will continue to be quiet.

However! I do hope to spruce things up for myself and make a website, into which I may incorporate a new blog (?) in the near future. We shall see. I'll at least link this now "archived but still public and very much beloved" blog on there if I ever make it.

For now, follow me on Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

If you've been reading for a while—thank you. This is the place where my love for writing, social media, and creation bloomed. So I hope you stick around on the other platforms!

Stay tuned... perhaps...

THE QUIRK QUARTERLY, Volume 1 | January, February, March 2021

Welcome to the first volume of The Quirk Quarterly! Every three months or so, I plan to share a collection of my recent music, TV show, literary and film highlights, as well as some mini life lessons I have learnt, all in short form. Have a read to take a journey through my hyper-fixations and to maybe get a recommendation or two for yourself!

TV shows I watched in 2020 ranked by how much I still think about them

I do love TV, but sometimes I fall out of love with streaming, and I can feel so overwhelmed by the abundance of shows out there that I just stick to YouTube or films. Then 2020 came along. Staying at home for months on end can only lead to one browsing Netflix or finally giving into the hype of popular shows. I went into lockdown binge mode already loving sitcoms, teen comedies and heavily stylised series, but I came out of 2020 loving horror and cartoons just as much. I found such gems last year that I still think about them to this day, so I decided to rank them by how much they impact my daily daydreaming...

An alternative bucket list: more things to do while staying at home in quarantine

Well, one thing I can tell you for sure, is that I didn't tick a single thing off this college bucket list since I shared it in March. That's why I'm now making a different kind of bucket list for myself to complete, as well as sharing some ideas for you on how to spend your time at home.

OUTFIT | The College Uniform, and life as a university student so far

It’s crazy to think that I only began university over two months ago. Everything from picking out outfits every day to making my way to the library has become routine, but there are always surprises around the corner every week.

OUTFIT | Black & White Stripes with New York Brownstones, and why 'Hamilton' on Broadway made me cry

The fact that this New York street photoshoot won't be my last and that Hamilton won't be the last Broadway show I see fills me up with so much excitement. Photoshoots and musicals in Manhattan will be in the near future, two years to be exact when I live there...

OUTFIT | Pink Culottes, and how I got into TWO universities

These outfit shots were taken on a warm evening in Connemara two weeks ago when I was going out for dinner with my family, back when I had no idea what my Leaving Cert points would be or whether I would get my first choice of university... or universiTIES...

Bring on 2018... But, first, the Leaving Cert

It’s already been over a month since we shouted “Happy New Year” , and while I may still occasionally write “17” instead of “18", I know I have definitely long kissed 2017 goodbye.

OUTFIT | Christmas Chilling, and getting back to reality

The days coming up to Christmas were jam packed with oral exams and history research, so when the last day and our school's carol service rolled around, I couldn't believe it was 3 days to Christmas. Despite the mountains of Christmas homework I was given, I ditched the books and chilled out from then until after Stephen's Day.

OUTFIT | Denim for Days, and thoughts on entering Sixth Year

What I love about this denim jacket is that it is so easy to throw over any outfit, but will it just be as easy to throw my school bag over my shoulder and get my head stuck down for the Leaving Cert?

MAKEUP | Face of the Day - Glowy Summer Look

It's all about glow right now. No, not the TV show (which is v. v. good, I recommend it), it's the dewy, minimalistic, radiant makeup look everyone is rocking these days...
